Blanket Size Chart
🛏 Blanket vs. Bed Size Match
-
30x40 → Baby/toddler blanket
-
Best for cribs, strollers, or as a small throw.
-
Too small for standard beds.
-
-
40x60 → Small throw or child blanket
-
Works for a child’s twin bed as a coverlet or lap blanket for adults.
-
Doesn’t fully cover a standard twin mattress (39x75).
-
-
50x60 → Standard throw size
-
Popular as a couch or lap blanket.
-
On a twin bed (39x75), it will cover the width but leave length short.
-
On a full (54x75), it won’t fully cover.
-
-
60x80 → Oversized throw / adult blanket
-
Roughly queen mattress size in footprint (60x80 = queen mattress dimensions).
-
Works well as a full bed blanket for a twin (39x75) or full (54x75).
-
On a queen (60x80) it covers the top exactly (little to no overhang).
-
On a king (76x80) or California king (72x84), it won’t fully cover.
-
👉 Rule of thumb:
-
30x40 & 40x60 → kids / lap blankets.
-
50x60 → classic throw for couch or single-person use.
-
60x80 → large throw, can double as a bed blanket for twin/full, or just fit a queen top.
