Blanket Size Chart

🛏 Blanket vs. Bed Size Match

  • 30x40 → Baby/toddler blanket

    • Best for cribs, strollers, or as a small throw.

    • Too small for standard beds.

  • 40x60 → Small throw or child blanket

    • Works for a child’s twin bed as a coverlet or lap blanket for adults.

    • Doesn’t fully cover a standard twin mattress (39x75).

  • 50x60 → Standard throw size

    • Popular as a couch or lap blanket.

    • On a twin bed (39x75), it will cover the width but leave length short.

    • On a full (54x75), it won’t fully cover.

  • 60x80 → Oversized throw / adult blanket

    • Roughly queen mattress size in footprint (60x80 = queen mattress dimensions).

    • Works well as a full bed blanket for a twin (39x75) or full (54x75).

    • On a queen (60x80) it covers the top exactly (little to no overhang).

    • On a king (76x80) or California king (72x84), it won’t fully cover.

👉 Rule of thumb:

  • 30x40 & 40x60 → kids / lap blankets.

  • 50x60 → classic throw for couch or single-person use.

  • 60x80 → large throw, can double as a bed blanket for twin/full, or just fit a queen top.
